Job DescriptionControllerWe are looking for a driven, customer-focused, and organized candidate who will be responsible for managing the execution of all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis activities in our Cambridge, MA offices.We need a HANDS-ON Controller preferably with Biotech/ Pharmaceutical / CRO experience. Budgeting/Forecasting and skills suitable to a mature start up are essential. This person is a key member of the finance team and will support out strong growth plans.The role will take on interesting and challenging responsibilities which include supporting conclusions related to accounting for acquisitions and minority investments, valuation of intangible assets and goodwill, debt related issues, derivatives, revenue recognition and other complex accounting transactions.This role will report to the Vice President of Finance and will have interaction with the global controller-ship, Business Development, FP&A, Investor Relations, Legal, Treasury and Tax among other functions.In addition, this position will have frequent exposure to senior management and other organizations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Directs, monitors, reports and interprets all accounting, reporting and budgetary/forecast aspects of the businesses.· Facilitate corporate reporting, variance analysis, working capital analysis, and operating profit improvement measures.· Assist in leading policy, procedure and process development and improvements.· Maintains and checks written analysis of various balance sheet and P&L accounts.· Recommends and reviews accounting, budgeting/forecasting and reporting systems to ensure they are in accordance with company policies, corporate policies, SOX, and manages revisions when needed.· Act as the financial lead in growing sales and profitability through interaction with various cross-functional teams (ie sales and operations). SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA and/or MBA a plus.· 6-10 years' finance/accounting experience required. Biotech or Pharmaceutical environment preferred.· Proficient working knowledge of MS Excel and reporting and budgeting software (Hyperion preferred).· Demonstrated experience in monthly closing, controls and compliance.· Results oriented – driven to meet deadlines while not sacrificing quality.· Must be professional and have sense of urgency Company DescriptionGenome sequencing research and services to major Pharma and oncology research organizations world wide.
