The Financial Services division is in Finance, reporting to the CFO. Within Financial Services, there are teams that are responsible for Corporate Budget and Procurement, Real Estate, Sales Support and Reporting, and the Business Support team.
The Corporate Budget and Procurement team focuses on balancing company needs vs costs, provides project portfolio tracking and analysis, and maximizing vendor value. The Real Estate Team builds on best-in-class building services, manages relationships with multiple tenants, and supports sustainable building programs. The Sales Support and Reporting team provides sales operations and support, provides account broker and member-facing functions, and manages sales incentives as well as membership reporting to the organization. The Business Support team provides one stop shop services across the enterprise for segment, corporate and division-wide initiatives, program management and governance for market segments, and provides analytics and reporting to the enterprise.
The Financial Services Summer Student Internship at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is designed to provide students with the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a professional environment. Interns will develop basic professional skills needed to support the transition from college to career, while learning about the healthcare and insurance industries. The intern will be paired with an experienced associate who will serve as his/her supervisor throughout the internship.
The full-time, paid student internship starts June 4, 2018 and ends August 24, 2018. This internship includes a Day 1 orientation, lunch & learn sessions throughout the summer, social outings and an off-site volunteer event. The Financial Services intern is located in our Boston office.
The Financial Services Intern will either work in the Budget area or with the Business Support team on either a budget project or a market segment-related project based upon business needs.
Ideal candidates meet the following qualifications: Current undergraduate or graduate student with at least a 3.0 GPA Relevant coursework in Project Management, Statistics, and Business Understanding of basic operations management Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Creative problem-solving skills Responsive to customer needs Strong analytical skills Focus on personal and professional development Effective written and oral communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Access
