Job Description
The Senior Trainer has a comprehensive functional and hands-on understanding of the credit union’s products/services as well as the primary systems that support lending, operations and member services. They will apply this knowledge to create an educational and training program with related content/materials that aligns to and supports these areas responsibilities.

This education and training program will include, but is not limited to: core system knowledge, teller transactions, new account/product opening, loan origination/operating system, mortgage servicing, credit card, debit card, ACH, wire transfers, IRAs, as well as other programs/services as needed.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities include:
* Assess department and individual training needs with input from managers, employee assessment and member surveys as well as other appropriate sources. Make recommendation for training programs.
* Performs training needs assessment by collecting and observing procedures, work flow, and reports to fully understand job-specific functions and tasks.
* Evaluates outsourced programs and/or vendors to augment training internally. Coordinates and utilizes external training programs, policies, procedures and products/services to enhance the credit union’s training programs
* Develops skill-based education and training programs based on assessment and need.
* Develops appropriate material and documentation to support the learning objectives of the programs.
* Updates and keep current the supporting materials as systems, policies and procedures change.
* Delivers job and function specific educational and training classes using a variety of training approaches and styles including skill builders, role play, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lecture.
* Researches, assess software capabilities to identify process improvements that will provide greater operational efficiencies and enhance the products and services that we deliver to our membership
* Collaborates to fully understand software and system capabilities. Plays a lead role in researching and testing system functions. May troubleshoot and test new release capabilities before and after installation.
* Continually evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed.
* Coordinates and secures classroom/department training space and prepares the physical environment, including audiovisual equipment. Tracks individual participation in training programs.
* Participates on implementation teams to ensure training needs and requirements for new or enhanced programs are delivered.
* Effectively enhances employee’s skills by providing training and coaching that will improve their commitment to the attitude, beliefs and values of the credit union.
* Delivers and motivates trainees through effective training methodologies for online, group, and individual classroom dynamics.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
* Strong organizational, planning, program management, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate professionally as well as good listening skills.
* Training and facilitation experience – proficient in training methodologies, curriculum development and soft skills (communication skills, critical thinking, time management, team building, etc.)
* Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with established dress code.
* Possesses the following skills and characteristics: creativity, conflict resolution, presentation, enthusiasm, assertiveness and a high level of ethics and integrity.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a service-oriented team
* Proficient use of current computer technology and Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

CHARACTERISTICS AND BEHAVIORAL STANDARDS
* Complies with ethical/legal standards, State and Federal laws. Takes action when violations occur anywhere in the credit union.
