Overview Our Client, a well-known Non Profit in Boston, is seeking a Director of Tax for its Organization. The Director will report into a member of Senior Management, and be responsible all tax issues, including compliance, tax planning, accounting for income taxes, ERISA compliance and forecasting tax provisions. The Tax Director will manage a small Staff, serve as the Organization's internal tax expert, and provide support to the Organization's Senior Management Team.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the preparation and filing of all tax forms including the 990, 990T, M990T, UBIT tax returns; and 1120 returns.Oversee management of all foreign tax issues.Act as the primary liaison with the Internal Revenue Service, MA Department of Revenue and all other state taxing authorities with respect to all tax filings.Manage the relationship with the external tax advisors and advise Management on significant changes to tax issues and regulations.Manage the filing of federal 5500 returns.Ensures the accounting for pension costs, and coordinates the annual audits for the defined benefit and defined contribution plans.Ensures the accounting for deferred tax liability, prepaid taxes and the provision.QUALIFICATIONS:Degree in accounting or finance.MST or LLM is be highly preferred.10+ years of tax experience gained in a Tax exempt/Non-Profit organization or Public Accounting.Candidates must have experience managing a staff, be self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.Experience working for an international organization is a plus.Proficiency with ERISA regulations and Financial Accounting Standard FAS 87 are required.LOCATION/COMPENSATION:Boston, MA$150-$175k range + an excellent benefits package.
