Located in downtown San Francisco, the office aims to foster a philanthropic community in the region to support the vital and enduring teaching, learning, and research mission of Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Position Overview:Working in the FAS development office, this position is responsible for performing a variety of complex administrative activities related to major gift fundraising efforts. S/he reports to two Regional Directors of Capital Giving, and supports these officers in all aspects of their day-to-day work. S/he excels at handling multiple tasks, anticipates and proactively resolves problems, is a team player, and is flexible and adaptable. This individual maintains excellent customer service both internally and externally and works closely with the University Development Office, Harvard College Fund, Recording Secretary's Office, Budget and other University-wide departments.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions*):Provides customer service to internal staff members and external clients such as donors, alumni, and parents. Assists with coordination of outreach and scheduling of prospect meetings. Compiles and prepares necessary meeting materials, which may include briefings for the President, Dean, Provost, Faculty and other staff.Aids in the timely completion of follow up after prospect interactions, including the submission of trip reports and facilitation of next steps. Maintains and updates data frequently in an effort to accurately reflect both individual and institutional fundraising progress, including the creation of reports for strategic purposes. Other administrative duties include the handling of all travel arrangements, calendar maintenance, and production of detailed expense reports.Additional responsibilities as needed, which may include special projects unique to each officer such as the oversight of regional committees, administrator pipelines, or event planning. Basic Qualifications * Minimum of 1 year of prior administrative or office experience required.* Excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Windows, Excel and Word. Additional Qualifications * Bachelor's degree at an accredited university preferred* Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.* Must be a professional, pro-active, collaborative, conscientious, and results-oriented individual.* Must demonstrate the ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, and display good, sound judgment.* Prior database experience preferred.
