Job Description
The Vital Village Community Engagement Network is a collective impact initiative to improve child well:being and prevent abuse and neglect involving three neighborhoods in Boston. The central goal of the Vital Village Network is to seed sustainable and scalable community change around child protection by mobilizing a collective investment from residents, community organizations (CBOs) and institutions using a strengths:based and trauma:informed paradigm.
Member of the Boston Medical Center Vital Village Network interdisciplinary team serving as Network Coordinator working with community champions, CBOs, and institutions. The Network Coordinator will play a key role in sustaining the collaborative network, coordinating evaluation efforts, and supporting the backbone functions of the Network. Responsible for coordinating and communicating logistics regarding events, supporting promotion of events, and evaluation efforts across Network projects and initiatives. In this role you will assist with calendar management, coordination of event logistics, and network communications. Communicates effectively and maintains documentation and recordkeeping.
Associates Degree required. High school Diploma plus two years of college may be substituted for the Associates Degree.
Bachelors in public health, education, social work or other human services area or equivalent experience a plus.
Event coordination responsibilities:
:Maintains and manages a Network:wide event calendar
:Manage logistics for each
event/meeting/training including venue and vendor selection and management, refreshment selection and ordering, on:site requirements and day:of management
:Develop plan for event preparation, implementation and evaluation, using Asana
:Schedule and keep minutes for event planning meetings with project teams
:Assist program manager/director with evaluation of events and Network:wide activities
Communication responsibilities:
:Ensure and oversee up:to:date event records using project tracking software (Asana) and ensure timely reporting on event results, as well as acknowledgements of external vendors and trainers
:Maintain regular communication with Vital Village Network staff, community partners, CBOs, stakeholders, and residents (including calls, emails, and newsletters) regarding upcoming Network events
:Assist program manager/director with social media programming and other marketing activities in support of event promotion
Responsible for working with community partners:
:Assist program manager/director with support of external event/training facilitators
:Help ensure families engage in Vital Village Network activities and events
Provides and receives constructive feedback from team members as it relates to performance in an appropriate manner
Contributes to the development of new ideas that affect the program/medical center
Maintains patient confidentiality
Utilizes hospitals values as the basis for decision making and to facilitate the divisions hospital mission
Meets hospital:wide standards in the following areas:
:Conforms to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, so that the best possible customer service and patient care may be provided
:Utilizes hospitals values as the basis for decision:making and to facilitate the divisions hospital mission
:Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures
Develops competencies as related to position
Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary
