Seeking three actors for a 5 minute adaptation of the Ernest Hemingway short-story "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place". The short is being shot on two evenings in various Boston/Newton locations on the weekend of November 17th-19th. I would also like to rehearse with my actors on a date the week before hand. It is for an upper level production course so high-end equipment is allotted to us, allowing for quality picture for clips that can be added to an acting reel.

Synopsis: Tom, a, morose, middle aged waiter, seeks to comfort a drunk, suicidal old man who is the last patron at the late night cafe he works at. His coworker Nick, goads him into cutting off the old man so they can leave early. Nick then takes the old man's glass and forces him out and the two waiters finish closing. At home, in his sleepless state of insomnia, Tom ruminates on the feelings of loneliness and nihilism that he shares with the old man. As the next day dawns, he is able to restore some hope at the thought of the cafe that he prides as being a bastion for lost and sad people.

ROLES:
Nick: Young, irritable, and confident. 20's-30's.

Tom: Sympathetic, introspective, lonely. 40's-50's.

Ern: Drunk, deaf, old man in despair. 60's-80's.

If you're interested please get in contact and send a headshot, resume, and reel if you have them.
