We are seeking a Technician I for our GEMS:Breed Department located in Wilmington, MA.
Maintain and monitor the health, production, and physical environment of Charles River or external customer animals within isolators, micro:isolator caging and/or ventilated cage systems. Perform animal husbandry which will include feeding, watering and cleaning cages. Implement breeding and sampling procedures to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain physical environment cleanliness, biosecurity and accurate department/animal records within the internal database system. Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operating equipment and supplies per safety and ergonomic guidelines.
The following are minimum requirements related to the Technician I position.
:Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
:Experience: Zero to twelve months related experience in and/or training in animal husbandry.
:An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
:Certification/Licensure: Preference will be given for AALAS certification at the Assistant Technician or its equivalent.
