External Posting TitleSr. Cyber Security EngineerJob DescriptionAs a member of the Security Engineering team you will be paramount in solving Biogen’s most complex security challenges, you will be expected to be a senior security Subject Matter Expert.Job Duties:• Assess and evolve overall security posture as necessary to meet all the needs of a modern Enterprise• Evaluate and potentially redesign our security checks to ensure optimal platform security• Provide technical expertise and mentoring to peers• Maintain and improve processes, tools, and documentation that will support production operations• Defining and maintaining good security hygiene adhering to NIST 800-53• Conducting network and application vulnerability scans• Analyze security monitoring, alerting, and reporting to identify actionable security intelligence• Support security and compliance evaluations, address Audit items• Evaluate vendor/partner’s security posture and working with them to meet standards• Perform detailed technical design and hands-on programming of critical security components• Design and implement authentication, authorization and security policy enforcement• Cryptography subject matter expert, answer questions, and create compliant, creative solutions• Review new services created to ensure the design is in accordance with corporate security standards, including authentication, encryption, application security, access control and monitoring.• Excellent knowledge of cryptography theory and hands-on experience of cryptography programming and secure application development• Excellent knowledge of Identity and Access management• Define system security requirements, architecture, design, development, evaluation, certification, and certification for ICS industrial control systems.• Strong experience of authentication and authorization technologies• Strong experience in key management processes, best practice and technologies• Strong oral and written communication, and presentation skills• Experience in hardware security module products• Knowledge of multi-factor authentication preferred• Ability to work with a cross functional team and handle multiple tasks and prioritiesLocationCambridge, MA, USJob CategoryITRequisition Number30192BRQualifications• 5+ years of experience in a hands on security engineering role.• Specific understanding of application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, security auditing, TCP/IP & network fundamentals, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, VPNs, WAFs.• Solid understanding of hybrid-cloud environments and how they present specific challenges to the security field.• Experienced with designing and running security solutions with the following tools: vulnerability scanners, forensics software, SIEM, HIDS/NIDS//IPS, malware analysis and protection, content filtering, logical access controls, physical access controls, identity and access management, data loss prevention, content filtering technologies, application firewalls, security incident response techniques.• Strong knowledge of IPv4/6 protocols and analysis• Expertise with secure network firewall, application firewall, and DDoS prevention technologies• Expertise with security compliance or risk management would be helpful• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 global and domestic regulations and standards• Background with ITIL/ITSM processes• CISSP, CEH, CSSLP or equivalent is a plus• Works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems• Excellent communication skills, presenting, listening and informing.
