Research + Development Chef and Culinary Lead

Jafco Foods, Inc has an amazing opportunity for an experienced Research + Development Chef and Culinary Lead to support our growing organization. You will be responsible for taking culinary cues and making them a reality in both Foodservice and Retail.
Your role will be to support the culinary direction of a continually evolving company and help deliver innovation to ensure we stay ahead of the pack. You will be working directly with our customers, our owned and operated USDA Facility, as well as our vendors.
We dont just think outside the box, we reinvent the box when taste, presentation and experience are at stake. Essentially, if you taste it or smell it, you will be creating it
Key Responsibilities
+ Working directly with Sales to support our growing business. Supporting and assisting in the sales process will be part of your experience as well as product cuttings, and food shows.
+Support new product and food trend research
+ Working directly with our owned and operated USDA facility , you will be developing both RETAIL and Foodservice products that will go into the industry.
+ Execute product presentations and samplings nationally. You will be working with culinary leads from national food service management companies and local distributors to support, grow and sell our growing product lines.
+ Refine and improve existing menu item recipes.
+ Support food cost analysis of new menu items
+ Support test product rollout training with sales, marketing, and customers.
+ Act as talent in procedural training videos
+ Support marketing with menu item descriptions and food production/styling for photo shoots
+ Support the training and development of Chefs and Managers in in the field
Job Requirements + Qualifications
+ Exceptional Culinary skills and a flair for food quality; flavor, recipe development, portion, plating, garnish, innovation, well versed on upscale casual trends/market
+ 3+ years Chef Experience
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral including computer skills (Word, Excel, PPT, Publisher)
+ Ability to problem solve effectively and able to adapt to a quickly changing work environment + Excellent organizational skills
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet team sales goals and deadlines
+ Demonstrates a professional attitude and fosters a fun and culture driven attitude
+ Exceptionally high standards on food quality, safety and possess an eye for detail
+ Franchise and/or multi:unit background an asset
+ Travel will be required to create chef tables in facilities around the country and support our sales staff in presentations.
