Assisting with day-to-day box office and marketing operations, including:
Communicating with patrons via phone and email regarding ticket orders and requests
Assist with event staffing during the performance season
Assisting the Director of Client Services with client relations and project management
Database upkeep and special projects relating to client patron data
Updating client campaigns in Facebook Ads Manager, Google AdWords, MailChimp, and Hubspot
Creation of content for social media/blog postings, as well as parsing larger-format content into social media/email content
Other related special projects


Excellent and clear communication skills online and in person
Ability to assess patron/client issues and resolve in a timely manner
Ability to write creative, focused copy for marketing materials and social media content
Customer service or hospitality experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and Google Docs
Ability to work independently
Familiarity with the Boston arts scene
Interest and experience in events, promotion, publicity and marketing (or box office)
Bachelor’s Degree
Additional Expectations
Salesforce (or similar CRM), Facebook Ads, Google AdWords, MailChimp, and/ or Hubspot experience appreciated, but not required. (Training and opportunity for certification provided.)
Weekend/evening work is sometimes required, especially during performance season which spans September–May.

Opus Affair connects people who are interested in the arts. In addition to hosting monthly meetups and building an online community of people involved in the arts, we have a consulting team that works directly with arts organizations on building their own communities, through marketing and patron services projects.

Our consulting services are primarily focused on mid-sized arts and culture organizations in Boston, though we do some work outside of the region. Recent and ongoing projects have included Boston Baroque, Boston Philharmonic, Boston Lyric Opera, Odyssey Opera, White Snake Projects, A Far Cry, Michigan Science Center, Random Farms Children's Theater, On Site Opera, and BEMF.
