Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and self:motivated Senior Robotics Product Engineer to help create new automation solutions that improve overall system efficiencies through the use of advanced technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience conceptualizing, developing, and evaluating novel electro:mechanical systems. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Robotic System Engineering.The Sr. Robotics Product Engineer will be responsible for:Evaluating and identifying improvements to solution designs with specific domain focus on robotics and automationCreating new, innovative mechatronic systemsDeveloping advanced technology platforms that can be broadly appliedEvaluating total system cost of ownership for new robotics opportunitiesDocumenting detailed product requirementsInterfacing with engineering managers, product management, and/or program management to drive new product development programs from concept to productionMaintaining high level of communications with cross:functional team, and partnersBS/MS Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or similar field)8+ years of product development experience with emphasis on electromechanical automation equipmentDetailed system modeling experience and demonstrable experience using these models to drive design trades and design requirementsBroad exposure to mechanical, electrical, firmware and control systems design and development practices including common engineering tools used for such efforts with detailed knowledge and expertise in at least one of the areasDeep understanding of the business and end user needs, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right technology solutionResolves complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective waysBrings a department and company:wide perspective to detailed technical decisionsExcellent written (white papers) and oral communication skillsStrong organizational and planning skillsCustomer focused
