Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and self:motivated Vision Application Engineer for the Perception group to help create new automation solutions that improve overall system efficiencies through the use of advanced technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with practical vision system design and fabrication This position reports to the group Manager, Perception. The Advanced Robotics Perception Vision Application Engineer will be responsible for: Working with the Perception Algorithm Engineers to create feasible and robust vision solutions Creating detailed technical specifications and translating them into designs Bring real:world experience to solving difficult new problems Managing vendor interaction and staying current on product lines Fabricating and qualifying prototype and preproduction equipment Resolving complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways Maintaining high level of communications BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent Minimum of 5 years experience developing production vision applications Experience specifying sensor, lens and lighting systems Experience interfacing sensor system to Linux systems Understanding of networking protocols and technologies Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience with 3D sensor systems Knowledge of multiple vendor product lines Experience creating processes for calibrating and qualifying vision systems Experience creating sensor interface software in C++ or Python Experience with source control, code reviews, and bug tracking systems Able to work on challenging assignments with aggressive schedules
