Young people in Greater Boston come from 140 countries around the world! To celebrate our incredible diversity and our collective cultural heritage, OneWorld Classrooms will launch a new art exhibit in June, 2013 called Boston 140. The exhibit will feature artwork created by Boston-area AND global K-12 students that reflects their lives and cultures. It will be FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and displayed at various sites in the Boston area, including the Margarita Muñiz Academy, the Boston Children's Hospital, the Vine Street Community Center and at a Boston Children's Chorus concert. A full list of venues and dates will be announced.
CALL FOR SUMBISSIONS
OneWorld Classrooms welcomes all Greater Boston area K-12 schools and after school programs to submit student artwork for the exhibit. Participation is FREE OF CHARGE. Selected submissions will be featured in the exhibit. Submissions that are not selected for display will be sent to schools around the world that participate in OneWorld Classrooms K-12 Global Art Exchange (or returned upon request).
HELP US TO INVITE OVERSEAS SCHOOLS!
If you, your colleagues or parents/family members in your school/program community have connections at overseas schools, we welcome you to invite them to participate in our K-12 Global Art Exchange for free!* (Or, send us the name and Email address of a contact person at an overseas school, along with the school name and the country, to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will reach out to them for you.) *For schools/programs outside the US, Canada, England, France, Germany and Australia, participation is FREE OF CHARGE. Submissions from all overseas schools/programs will be considered forthe Boston 140 exhibit.
For student art submissions to be considered for theBoston 140 exhibit, Greater Boston and global K-12 schools and after school programs must submit student artwork any time before February 1st, 2013.
